Esther Simpson studied Fashion Design in British Columbia, Canada yet it was her Surface Design class that sparked her fascination which grew into a determination to become a Surface Pattern Designer. She gained experience with different methods of dyeing and manipulating fabric from Shibori, Screen Printing to Procion MX Dyeing. It gave her the inspiration to mix different mediums, try new ways of application and find unorthodox tools to work with. Esther continues to expand her knowledge from traditional art techniques to graphic programs such as Adobe Illustrator. She likes to incorporate different styles into her work however her signature style is whimsical with a dash of sophistication and a touch of texture to intrigue the eye.
