Textured Wallpaper: 5 Ways

May 30 2017

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: great interior design is all about texture. There’s nothing like a space that offers up diverse and dynamic layers and visual cues, creating intrigue and elegance. One of the ways you can add these layers to your home is by using textured wallpaper.

Textured wallpaper is a wonderful option for crafting that first foundation, and that’s where we can help you. Our stylists have collated their favourite looks for inspiration, and have included their favourite Luxe Walls textured wallpaper options. Let’s dive in!

1. The Brick Look

A trend that has only increased in popularity over the last few years has been the exposed brick aesthetic. Sadly, we can’t all afford a chic converted warehouse, and so textured wallpaper is the next best thing to get that NYC loft apartment or subtle industrial feel.

We love the stunning room below courtesy of Country Living and Bjorn Wallander, and it’s something that you can definitely use to inspire your own interiors. The white bricks keep things contemporary and understated, while still adding that complex texture to the room.

2. Concrete Textured Wallpaper

One of our favourite textured wallpaper ideas is using the industrial-inclined concrete look. Using the concrete aesthetic as your chosen textured wallpaper also leaves you open to using a variety of other textures in your space.

Check out the stunning styling below from Harper’s Bazaar. See how they’ve incorporated numerous textures with the soft furnishings? The shag rug and the cable knit throw soften the masculine feel of the concrete look.

3. Indoor greenery

Another way to introduce layered textures (and colour) into your home is by showcasing climbing plants and greenery. But who wants all that maintenance? One of the beauties of using removable wallpaper is that you can enjoy the aesthetic appeal of these ideas without the hassle of the upkeep!

Here’s a great example of how bringing greenery indoors adds depth and diversity to any interior…

4. Marble wallpaper

Perhaps bricks, concrete and greenery aren’t for you? That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on textured wallpaper. Another style we absolutely love here at Luxe Walls is the use of marble wallpaper. Marble is a fantastic option for those looking for a vast range of versatility.

Marble comes in all sorts of designs and colours, so you’re bound to find a print that suits you and your home. We particularly love the more understated styles, as they lend an air of sophistication to any space.

5. Finish it with timber!

If you’re a fan of the Scandi vibes, then the exposed timber finish is the look for you! Timber (and timber wallpaper!) offer numerous possibilities when it comes to interiors and decor. Simple timber finishes offer that pared back aesthetic – minimalist and modern, yet warm as well.

You can utilise this look in a number of ways, whether just for accents (as in the example below), or for entire feature walls. It’s completely up to you!
