Custom wallpaper starts with your idea. Describe a colour palette, a botanical, a geometric repeat or a full scenic wall mural, and you will see it on screen before anything is printed. You can also work from your own photograph or artwork if you already have the image.
Every order is printed to your measurements in centimetres on removable peel and stick material, with a 10% allowance added for trimming and a 3m² minimum. Pricing is the same $79 per m² as our ready made designs, so a custom wall mural costs no more than choosing from the shop.
Custom wallpaper questions
Can I use my own photo or artwork to create a custom wallpaper?
Yes. You can describe the look you want and our AI designer will generate a pattern for you, or you can start from your own photo or artwork. Landscapes, abstracts, illustrations and kids' drawings all work well. If your image has people, text or fine detail, send it through and we will tell you honestly how it will translate at wall scale before you commit.
What resolution does my image need for custom wallpaper printing?
Bigger is always better, because your image is printed across metres of wall. As a guide, photos from a modern phone or camera are usually fine for smaller walls. For large feature walls we check your file before printing and let you know if it will hold up, so there are no surprises when the panels arrive.
Will the printed colours match what I see on my screen?
Close, but not pixel perfect. Every screen displays colour a little differently, so we always recommend ordering a sample of your custom design first. A $10 A5 sample shows you the true printed colour and the matte finish in your room's light, and the sample cost is credited back when you order the full wallpaper.
How much does custom wallpaper cost, and is there a minimum order?
Custom designs are priced the same as our core range at $79 per square metre, with a 3 square metre minimum per design. Your wall's width and height in centimetres determine the price, and a 10% waste allowance is included so you have enough to trim at the ceiling, skirting and corners. How do I measure my wall for a custom design?
Measure the width at the widest point and the height at the tallest point, in centimetres. Do not subtract doors or windows: we print across the full wall so your pattern lines up, and you trim the openings during installation. Your design is then scaled and laid out in numbered panels up to 70cm wide with a 15mm overlap.
Do I get to approve a proof before my custom wallpaper is printed?
Yes. Nothing goes to print until you have seen the design on your wall's dimensions and approved it. You can preview the pattern in your own room using the visualiser, adjust the scale and positioning, and only once you are happy do we send it to the printer.
Which rooms suit custom wallpaper, and can it be removed?
Custom wallpaper is printed on the same premium self adhesive stock as the rest of our range, so it suits living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, offices and hallways. On a clean, cured and properly painted wall it peels away without damage or residue, which makes it renter friendly. Like all peel and stick wallpaper it is not recommended for high humidity areas such as steamy bathrooms.
How long does a custom wallpaper order take?
Your design proof is ready to preview as soon as it is generated. Once you approve the design and place your order, it is custom printed in Australia and shipped to you.
